Do you realize that the creator of the universe loves you with an unconditional, expansive, mind-blowing love? Many times the phrase ‘God loves you’ becomes cliché. We hear it all the time so we forget the magnitude of that statement.
Zephania 3:17 says, ‘The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves, He will take great delight in you, in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.’
I came across this passage, along with the following in my Bible reading plan the other day: ‘Your Lord delights in you. He loves you with an everlasting love. You are the apple of His eye, and He is looking forward to spending eternity with you. You have been created in His image, designed to reflect His glory and to love Him forevermore. He promises to be with you wherever you are, to never leave you nor forsake you; there is no place that you can go that He is not there.’
Isn’t that an awesome reminder? So many people are walking around searching for a second-rate love, when Love Himself is waiting for you to open your heart up to Him. I was there once- and I can testify that nothing and no one can bring peace and satisfaction like Jesus does. Not money, not a spouse, not fame or popularity or possessions. Just Jesus.
I love how David puts it in Psalm 63:5– ‘I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.‘
There is something so significant about praising God in whatever circumstance you are in. Full satisfaction lies in knowing and remembering that we have everything we need in God alone. When you feel yourself wallowing in discontentment, make a decision to give thanks your maker- remember that He too, dances and rejoices over you. He’s already perfected all things, and has seen the end even before the beginning. Rest in Him.
‘as it is written, no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him’ [1 Corinthians 2:9]
